How long is the therapy session?

The standard meeting time for a therapy session is 50 minutes.

4

What will the first session be like?

Your therapist will complete an initial evaluation to gather information about medical history, mental health history, and your presenting concerns. This information is used to assess appropriateness for treatment and create your therapy goals.

5

What is the difference between coaching and therapy and can I do both at the same time?

Coaching is more structured, skills-based, and action-oriented. In contrast, therapy often explores the why—the underlying thoughts, emotional patterns, or trauma that may be contributing to your experience. While therapy helps you process deeper emotional content and build insight, coaching focuses on helping you apply strategies that can lead to tangible change.

Yes, you can do both coaching and therapy. If you are already in therapy, coaching can provide structure and follow-through outside of sessions. It reinforces the skills you are working on and gives you opportunities to apply new habits in real time.

6

Can you prescribe medicine?

While we currently do not prescribe medication, we can refer clients to an appropriate provider for medication management.

7

How do I pay for sessions?

You can choose to pay out of pocket or use your insurance. Most insurance plans offer mental health benefits. We accept Aetna, Care First, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Florida Blue, Cigna, and United Healthcare. Please note that are coaching services are not covered by insurance, but we do offer payment plans.

You should always refer to your specific insurance plan for details on mental health benefits, copays and other out of pocket costs.

8

What if I feel like my therapist isn’t a good fit?

We match therapists to clients based on your preferences and concerns. While we try very hard to pair you with a therapist that we think will be aligned, we understand that it's not always the perfect fit. We encourage clients to first discuss any challenges with the their therapist. If clients still feel that the therapeutic relationship is not a match, clients can reach out to our Client Services Coordinator for a reassignment.
