Q&A

How do I get started with therapy?

To sign up for services, send us an email or complete a client interest form. Please have your insurance card ready. Once all intake forms have been completed, your therapist will contact you to schedule the initial appointment.  This process can take up to 7 business days, or longer if forms are not completed in their entirety.

2

Do you provide online/virtual therapy?

We provide individual, group, and family therapy services online, through a HIPAA-compliant platform. We also offer sessions in person at our Laurel office.

3

How long is the therapy session?

The standard meeting time for a therapy session is 50 minutes.

4

What will the first session be like?

Your therapist will complete an initial evaluation to gather information about medical history, mental health history, and your presenting concerns. This information is used to assess appropriateness for treatment and create your therapy goals.

5

Can you prescribe medicine?

While we currently do not prescribe medication, we can refer clients to an appropriate provider for medication management.

6

How do I pay for sessions?

You can choose to pay out of pocket or use your insurance. Most insurance plans offer mental health benefits. We accept Care First, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CIGNA, and United Healthcare.

You should always refer to your specific insurance plan for details on mental health benefits, copays and other out of pocket costs.

What if I feel like my therapist isn’t a good fit?

We match therapists to clients based on your preferences and concerns. While we try very hard to pair you with a therapist that we think will be aligned, we understand that it's not always the perfect fit. We encourage clients to first discuss any challenges with the their therapist. If clients still feel that the therapeutic relationship is not a match, clients can reach out to our Client Services Coordinator for a reassignment.
